Sunderland crash out, Liverpool power through

Surpise, surprise. A premiership club, Sunderland got whooped by a first division side, namely Luton Town. The scoreline doesn't make great reading for Sunderland fans

In Sunderland's defence though, they did put out a weakened side, even resting their new star goalkeeper, Craig Gordon, probably in view of their next game, against Manchester United no less!

Consistency in rotation = consistency in performance?

Last season everyone was berating Rafa and his rotation policy, but little did they realise that he only rotated his team as much as Mourinho and Ferguson. The difference was, that Liverpool just didn't win as much. Fast forward to this season, and everything is going to plan, and not a pip squeak from anyone about rotation. Still early days though

One could say, with a name like Toulouse (to lose?), they were destined to lose.
